process and typography

Process.  Bells and stuff.  Why did I confuse, "You use too many lines," with "you shouldn't crosshatch?"  The past couple weeks I've been trying to ink my pages with no midtone.  I guess this is what college is for.  This still needs some work, but you know.  Stuff.

Oh yeah and this.

Typography homework.  Sweet.

BTW, C2E2 was amazing.

Paint & Pastries

Hey Internet,

You heard of Andrew Herbst right?  You know, that granola, punk old-timey guitarist with the fresh bike who creates transitory folk-plight comics about hobos, vagrant children and creepy underground cities.  Well below is a comic collaboration we worked on together.  We collaborate on a lot of projects, one being how best to get drunk in my kitchen while talking about comics.  Check out this strip, formatted first as a full newspaper spread, then modified as an interactive web comic.  Concept and illustration by Andrew, and code by me.
